IFT delegation participates in the Telecommunications Regulators Summit
- Commissioner Adriana Labardini led this working group in which an exchange of experiences took place between Latin America and Europe regulators
In order to participate in the debate on the most current and relevant aspects of sectoral regulation with regulators platforms in other regions, a delegation of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT), led by Commissioner Adriana Labardini, attended the Summit between Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulators (Foro Latinoamericano de Entes Reguladores de Telecomunicaciones Regulatel), held in Barcelona, Spain, during this July 2nd and 3rd.
In this meeting which was held at the headquarters of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia, CNMC), attended the first Euro-Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG), and the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg), so that an exchange of experiences among regulators in Latin America and European regulators was achieved.
Also, in Session III: Broadband Services and Quality Standards from the Consumers' Perspective which took place last Friday, Commissioner Labardini elaborated on the situation of broadband services and quality standards from the perspective of consumers.
The extraordinary Plenary Meeting of Regulatel was held, in which topics on relevant studies such as the various Working Groups held in benefit of the region, and possible areas of cooperation between the Forum and discussed various international institutions also took place.
With this, the IFT both in his capacity as sectoral competition authority and the regulator of telecommunications and broadcasting participates in exchanges of information on relevant to their work and relating to international best practice issues.
