Ramiro Camacho Castillo is Commissioner of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) for the period of March 2019 to February 2028.

He holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Guadalajara, a Master´s Degree in Operations Research from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master´s Degree in Energy and Environmental Economics from the Enrico Mattei School in Italy.

Commissioner Camacho has over 22 years of experience in the analysis and regulation of the telecommunications industry: half of those years in academia and half in regulatory or economic competition authorities. He was a researcher in Comparative Regulation and the General Director of Economic Consulting at the IFT. In addition, he was Deputy General Director of Competition Studies, Director of Studies and Concentrations, and Director of Studies and Monopolistic Practices at the Federal Economic Competition Commission of Mexico (COFECE). Currently, he is an associated professor on leave at the University of Guadalajara campus Puerto Vallarta.
