Javier Juárez
Javier Juárez Mojica is Commissioner of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT). He was appointed by the Mexican Senate in October 2016.
He is interested and has given lectures and organized seminars on interconnection, community and indigenous networks, local loop unbundling, virtual mobile operators, Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, among others.

Academic information
Commissioner Juárez holds an Electronics and Communication Engineering degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a master in Information Technology and Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
He also earned a Mastère spécialisé en Réseaux et Systèmes d'Information pour les Entreprises, awarded by l'École Nationale Supérieure de Télécommunications de Bretagne, in France.
Membership and contributions
Honorary member of the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST), advisory body of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Vice-chair of the Working Party on Communication Infrastructures and Services Policy (CISP) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), 2019-2021.
He has also been member of the OECD Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AIGO).
